YMU-503cx. U.S.
Korean War
Posthumously Awarded Purple heart and Personal Effects Trunk and
Document group to an Infantry Officer in the 15th Infantry 3rd
Division. A unbelievable grouping with a lot of documents,
pictures, trunk, uniforms and assessories (about 6 shirts, 3 jackets, 5
pants, 1 overall, and other misc items and documents). The
Purple Heart
was
awarded Posthumously for wounds resulting in the soldiers death on Jan
29, 1951 for military operations in Korea. Purple Heart is
numbered in matching numbered mailing package (however, it appears the
purple heart was left somewhere in very high heat, probably an attic,
and the purple plastic center has melted). Among the
documents is a documented hand signed by President Truman and Purple
Heart Award document. The
truck includes several uniforms and personal papers, insignias, and
other misc items and was mailed from the Army Effects Bureau back to
the family in Washington DC. A great piece of history of a
KIA Purple Heart Officers grouping from Korea. Please note, this
grouping
is very large and heavy and will most likely have to be shipped via
some type of UPS ground shipment................- Sold
