This is a most unusual period mounted U.S.M.C. group of "7" medals  This Medal group contains His Marine Corps  Good Conduct medal which is named to him and dated 1915, His Pre-WW1 Mexican War medal, numbered issue & his Dominican Campaign Medal also numbered issue and both attributable to him with the paper work that comes with this set of medals... There is also his WW-1 Victory Medal, his WWII American Campaign medal, his WWII Asiatic Pacific Campaign medal and his WWII Victory Medal, pluse copies of a number of his records and other research materal. coin-G46. U.S. 1840-C Rare Charlotte NC Two & a Half Dollar  ($2 1/2) Gold Coin ...
Rare Charlotte NC mint Gold 2 1/2 Dollar coin....   In the early 1800s before the Civil War, Gold was found in North Carolina, to turn this NC gold into coins, the Charlotte NC mint was opened and minted only Gold coins, mostly $1 - $2 1/2 & $5 .... Gold coins with the Charlotte mint  "C" are considered very Rare... This mint closed in 1861 at the start of the Civil War and never again opened, most of the "C" mint coins in the Southern banks were shipped to Europe to buy guns and supplies for the Confederate States and ended up being melted by the Europeans.  This coin is an 1840-C dated  $2 1/2 Gold piece....S2,500.00
