GO-3914. WWII German four medal bar group of an Africa Corps POW, Lets have a look at this bar and see what kind of story it tells us, looking at the medals in this group we see that this soldier was most likely young, he did not have much prior service time, due to the lack of pre-Nazi issue medals. He joined the service in the 1930's -- These medals show he took part in both the 1938 Sudatenland conquest and the 1938 march into Austria, there is also a War service cross with swords for combatants -- After the Sudatenland and Austrian medals, other then the combatants War service cross he did not receive any other awards or medals. Then finally there is the Africa Corps medal for service in Rommels Africa Corps. It is field attached, showing he was most likly a replacement arriving in 1942, he never did get the medal reattached in the proper way, so that would show he was propley taken as a POW not long after he joined the Africa Corps.....$595.00
